SALH Executive Director Receives Human Rights Award

In February, Ed Asher, St. Andrew's Lighthouse, Inc. Executive Director was honored by the Jacksonville Beach Unit of Church Women United with their 2010 Human Rights Award.  Jacksonville Mayor John Peyton commented in a letter to Ed, "This is a richly deserved honor.  Our community consists of many people who go beyond themselves to help those in need.  Your work establishing St. Andrew's Lighthouse is a great example.  It's traumatic enough when a family member is seriously ill, but when that illness necessitates temporary relocation of parents or spouses, it is wonderful that St. Andrew's is there to offer shelter and comfort.  We are proud and thankful to Ed and all the others who work so hard to make St. Andrew's a true home away from home for those in need."

MARK The Date for Homecoming 2010 . . .  Thursday, November 11, 2010

Take part in the festivities as St. Andrew's Lighthouse and Gabriel House of Care host our 2010 Homecoming with southern barbecue, bluegrass music, silent auction and more!  More information will be heading your way in our next newsletter.

Birdies For Charity

We are proud to have taken part again this year in THE PLAYERS Championship's community-based fundraiser, "Birdies for Charity".  It's hard to believe that 1,560 birdies were made on one of the most intimidating courses in the world!

In this year's "contest within the contest", the St. Andrew's Lighthouse supporter with the closest birdie guess among all our donors was Clifford Bird.  His guess earned him a $50 gift certificate to Gregory Paul's, a wonderful gourmet take-out and catering company located in Jacksonville Beach.
