About Us
St. Andrew’s Lighthouse is a non-profit hospital hospitality house that provides comfortable, affordable lodging to patients from out of town who are receiving specialized medical care in the Jacksonville area. Our mission is to help ease the financial, physical, and emotional stress that often accompany serious illness by providing true hospitality in a supportive, caring environment. Our goal is to create a “home away from home” atmosphere for our guests during their stay with us.
The Lighthouse is located in the beautiful, tranquil setting of Jacksonville Beach, FL. Our original facility is a renovated 1915 era two-story house with four private bedrooms and three and one-half bathrooms. A second home, made available to us in the summer of 2008, gave us the ability to house two additional families; increasing our on-site capacity to six families per night. To meet the growing demand for patient housing, St. Andrew’s Lighthouse is partnering with Mayo Clinic Florida to open a new 30-bedroom facility on the Mayo campus in Spring 2011. Funded entirely by the generosity of donors, the Gabriel House of Care will vastly expand our ability to offer out-of-area patients affordable, quality housing while receiving life-saving medical care.
Part of our success is due to our affiliation with the National Association of Hospital Hospitality Houses (NAHHH). Its mission is to serve people facing medical crisis by supporting its membership of approximately 180 hospitality houses across the country. As a member since 1998, our close relationship with NAHHH has helped us maintain the highest quality of standards and service for our guests.
